Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha, also called Gugu Mbatha-Raw is well-known British stage and film actor who gained popularity after she appeared in the "Doctor Who' (a British science-fiction TV show) show that aired on the BBC channel. Gugu made her name by playing Tish Jones on the popular BBC show. She was the sister to a main character called Martha Jones. Gugu's viewers loved her spontaneity and she was well in the process of establishing a long-lasting acting career. Her stage and screen productions in the UK include a variety of other productions. Critical acclaim has been given to her for her role of "Belle" (2013), an English period drama and "Beyond the Lights" which is a romantic comedy. Gugu Mbatha Raw played the lead role in the stage play "Nell Gwynn" by Jessica Swale as an actress that also played the mistress of King Charles II. The handler appeared in other shows, such as Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler began her work as the correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler gained notoriety in 2006 hosting an episode on E! called The Chelsea Handler Show. It lasted two seasons. In the following year, Handler performed on the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend, HBO and Comedy Central have all broadcasted her stand-up performances. Her name was chosen host of the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. By doing this, she was only the second host female on record, following Roseanne.
